D99 Luxus Finally Arrives at the Local Gun Store

Post by mchughcb »

Finally got to hold my first D99 in Australia in the calibres I wanted. Handles like a dream. Then I saw the price for my new fox hunting gun and it doesn't even have a customized pistol grip cap

There's a cost of living crisis in Australia thanks to the our failed energy policies and then I see this, luckly its splinter and not semi beaver so I'll have to pass

It is pretty. But no one would want one in a 308w......

I would. Ammo supplies these days is reducing people to factory loads and 308 is one in ample supply for now.

That’s a beautiful gun.
Life is too short to hunt with an ugly dog.
Hunt with a German Shorthaired Pointer.

Fantastic wood on it. Handles like a dream. I'd have to sell the sauer 3000 to fund it but way too expensive for a knock around gun for me.

Nice looking rifle and for $189.95 that's a fantastic price. :handgestures-thumbup:
Measure it, when it’s on the deck

Dunno about "ample" as regards variety, but I can't fault your reasoning. :handgestures-thumbup:

It would be but damn that's spendy. Even more than we would pay I think, and our prices/taxes are insane.

About $11000 USD. A new one in America would be about that. Blaser bockdrlling in America is similar price.

I got a quote from Mialls on a D99 Luxus back in 2013 and it was $8k less than that price (spent the $$ on a buff hunt in 2014 instead…)
So what’s that a ~>4% price increase per year? Slightly above annual wage growth but not by much

I guess it really comes down to how badly you want it.

I just bought a BD14 308/22 Hornet/20 gauge. It WAS way above my pay grade but I faniggled a way. I just wanted to say this. I am not sorry one bit. It is perfect! It is extremely accurate which was a surprise. I was expecting minute of deer and with 3 barrels to deal with, I also thought that it might just be a “ good theoretical “ concept that might not be reality. It IS the real deal!
I guess I’m saying all this to encourage you to have confidence that the D99 will NOT disappoint.
