Now this would never happen in Texas

Post by SPEEDY »

How is this for just how messed up things are in Australia.
THREE machete-wielding thieves have terrified staff at a club in Sydney's inner west, smashing cabinets and stealing firearms.
The armed robbery happened at the sporting club at Byrne Road in Auburn shortly after 2pm (AEST), police said.

Three men entered the club armed with machetes and confronted two men who worked there.

They smashed a number of display cabinets and stole several firearms and a quantity of ammunition.

The two staff members and another man were not injured during the robbery, with the thieves fleeing the scene in a a small, olive green four door sedan driven by a fourth person.

Police have established a crime scene and are urging anyone with information to contact them.
Only in Australia could 3 guys rob a Gun store armed with big knifes, try that in Texas and they would be taking you out in little bags, hell try that anywhere else for that matter and your still going to be leaving on your back.

At a store south of me who has an indoor range there is a sign in BIG letters on the door;

Anyone entering who has an uncased or exposed weapon will be treated with deadly force.

About 15 years ago a couple of young guys from NY City walked in; one with an uncased shotgun. As the other 2 turned quickly to the cashier in the front of the store, hands in their coats, all three of the counter employees drew their handguns. All 3 intruders were carried out. No charges were filed.

I would say that was a mess. Knowing ya'lls gun laws I suspect they'd be better off dead then if they'd have killed the bad guys. :roll: We did have a pawn shop held up here years ago that was family owned. The thugs were gang bangers and wound up killing the wife during the holdup. The owner was a big time gun collector but I don't recall if he even got a shot off. They were in their 50s-60s already and I think were just jumped on so fast that they never saw it coming. It was a real sad deal being that they were some of the nicest people to do business with. He in fact offered me a Colt Sauer in a 300 Wby years before that at a 'lay a way' deal of paying whatever I could each month till paid off. I was so broke back then that I couldn't even do that. Never forgot the gesture though - especially since it was with no interest. That's the kind of folks they were though.

So far to date no one in Australia has been convicted of murder or Manslaughter and done jail time for killing someone in their own home in self defence. (Not included the wife better just to go to jail) lol: You would be looking at around 3 years for an outcome in most cases. Any firearms would be taken off you even if you Bruce Lee it. Australia Law you have the right to use the required force necessary however if you step over that necessary bit your gone. I like Texas law better. A few years back I ran into a guy from down south USA that came out here to compete in the world Police and Fire Games. I was having a bit of a chat to him and he said in his area it’s ok to shoot them inside the house but outside you’re in the manure. (Self Defence, home invasion). He then looked at me with a smile and said, but every job we go too they say that there just washed the car or was watering the garden as the drive way was always wet right up to the front door: lol: :lol:

You would be surprised at the amount of dead, bad guys that, decided to come back in the house after being shot, especially in states that do not have liberal self defense laws.

I have also heard of guys walking into someones house and committing suicide, sometimes they shoot themselves 20 to 30 times before they are dead. ;)
