ANNOUNCEMENT: PROLIX IN OZ GUN SHOPS

Post by Spartan »

Prolix Lubricant will be available at your local gun shop after this month. A number of gun shops in Sydney and Brisbane as well as country NSW. and south Qld. are already stocking the complete Prolix range. If your local gun shop does not have it yet drop me an email sales@gonehunting.com.au with the name of the store plus the location or a phone number and contact and we will get it there.

I use Prolix TGCP as a solvent and lubricant because it,
 will clean, lubricate and preserve firearms,
 will prevent rust and corrosion,
 will NOT cause pitting when left in the bore (it is ammonia and petroleum free),
 will not deposit flash residue,
 is unaffected by adverse weather conditions (effective temperature range is -60°C to 230°C).
 is a dry lubricant – it will not build-up, freeze, attract dust or gunk-up the action.
 will not damage the finish of the rifle/gun stock (timber or synthetic),
 will not damage the magazine and other polymer components,
 will develop a protective lining in the bore that serves to minimise fouling and cleaning.
 will float away residue, oil and gunk .
 can be sprayed into the action (“...Prolix is the only cleaner/lubricant I will spray into an action...” - Chuck Hawkes: see http://www.chuckhawks.com/gun_cleaning.htm )
 is non-toxic, bio-degradable and not unpleasant to use.
 has passed the “ 100-hour salt spray test” conducted by an independent US facility.
 Is safe on nickel plated guns and equipment.
 is complemented by a grease-substitute lubricant (Xtra-T Lube, purchase separately) for metal-to-metal lubrication such as the slide on the Blaser R93.

Prolix is suitable for,
 day to day weapon cleaning and storage,
 cleaning of heavily fouled barrels when used in conjunction with JB.’s Bore Compound – see, Barrel Cleaning at http://prolixlubricant.com/pdf/Prolixcl ... stions.pdf
 barrel Break-In – see, http://prolixlubricant.com/pdf/TechShee ... reakIn.pdf
 brass cleaning and preparation using an ultrasonic cleaner
 treatment and lubrication of high carbon steel knife blades, reloading gear, tools, etc..

I have found Prolix TGCP (“Total Gun Care Product”) and Xtra-T Lube work as claimed and offers all the benefits crucial to maintenance of my Blaser R93 rifle and barrels as well as various other shotguns and stainless rifles. Now I use Prolix TGCP with JB’s Bore Compound and Xtra-T Lube for the day-to-day cleaning, lubrication and storage of all my firearms.

A thanks to Spartan for explaining a bit of what exactly Prolix is to the 'rest' of us who are not familiar with it. Looks like it's the real deal.

Thanks for the heads-up deerhunter. I hope to get Prolix into all gun shops that sell accessories because I believe it is the best and safest product out there with almost 30 years of usage in the USA.

Champ,
I think Prolix is the real deal. After researching and testing it for over 12 months I cannot find a safer and more effective solvent/lubricant for ALL my modern guns that has stood the test of time.

Any feedback you all can give me regarding Prolix would be appreciated - good or otherwise. I have not come across any negatives as yet but I may have blinkers on by now. Only issue I identified early was it can't deal with heavy copper fouling on is own. But when used with JB's Bore Compound (as per the Prolix cleaining instructions, see the website) then it is effective and safe - always flush the bore with Prolix regardless of the solvernt used for heavy fouling. By the way, I shoot Barnes TSX and that is as good test of copper fouling management as you will find.

I am also chasing IPSC Australia because Prolix is the recommended Solvent/Lubricant for IPSC global and is also sold via their global web site.

Thanks for the encouragement fellas. It is much apppreciated.
