well I chronograph the 210gn VLD projectiles and got an average of 2850fps. Been on the lands from what the tinker explained to me you get a lot more speed. I'm using 77gr of AR2217, 3559.5 COAL. I have been using Hornady brass and it's seems to be ok. I had to adjust the zero stop settings on the nightforce scope but have put a red circle around the nice grouping I did. All the rest was just test shot's to get it in the bull at 100 meters for the program to work. I want wast to much time at 100 meters now it's out to 300 to 700 meters practicing for me.

I ran those 210's Bergers out of my .300 Win @ 2800 fps in a Sako TRG, Rel 19 just off lands. Heart shot on 4 yr old cow Elk @ 869 yds. She did 1/2 circle and dropped.

Also ran 200 Accubond, thru ribs entry and complete penetration on offside Elk shoulder @ 725.

Currrently running factory Hornady factory Superformance 165 GMX @ 3200 fps in my R8 for antelope/deer/elk...30yds to 550 -They all died, fun to work up loads but almost always its the about placement with a decent bullet.

Just picked up a DTA SRS .338/.308 Win Lapua for the longer set up shots, R8 to carry.

Nice groups up there, sir

They are very devastating projectiles, a guy I know is using the new hybrid 300gr for the 338 in his custom 338rum light weight back pack rifle. I kid you not the damage at long range is very impressive on Sambar. I have found if the conditions are right you can hear the thud with ear muffs on when they hit. Now it's time to practice, practice, practice for me.

Nice work DeerHunter

How do you find the 2217? Accurate across a range of powder weights or fussy? I'm debating about trying it out with 180g bullets in the Win Mag as my experience with 2213SC and 180's was underwhelming even though it works well with the 201g KS.

Longrider; I've probably asked before and forgotten the answer  but how did you find the wound profile of the Nosler at that range? Could shards of jacket be found along the wound?

I am been a bit fussy as I have been using the same batch number for the powder and I got put onto the right seating die for the bergers (Forster Benchrest Seater Die) the rest is having the scope mounted professional and every thing that goes with doing that, brake fitted properly and having the right scope for the job. The other thing is I'm do all my powder charges inside the house and with the RSBS chargemaster. If you cut 1/4" bit of McDonald straw and pop that inside the the powder dispenser rod it pretty much stops any inconsistency with overcharging. Don't know how it works but it does  I got that info off accurate shooter web site which came from RCBS themselves. If I set up a fair dinkum rest at 100 meters I reckon I could push 3 in the one hole if I really try.

If you go the lapua Scenar in the 185gr projectiles you will not sleep at night thinking about how well they shoot. I will get the load data for you when I see the Tinker in the next few days if you like.

Only had two LR shots with accubond 200's , both missed heavy bone - as you know big diff if you hit mature elk shoulder penetration great, thru and thru, one was low heart, other a 2 lunger.

On the other hand I whacked a bull @ 400 yds 2x in the shoulder with 180 win PP bullets, #3 behind the shoulder finally to let his air out. Autopsy showed that the 2 Win PP bullets completely frag'd - did not even break the shoulder

Bergers still my fav LR bullet - about to try the 300 hybrid in my 338 Lapua DTA

I have a few photos of the damage they do from a guy I know that used them in his 338rum this year and you would think it was hit by a 50 cal. For this guy it was a small shot at 500 meters but was doing a review on them and needed to knock one over and I will say it did some damage.
