Heym Rifles

As many of you know I helped Chris, the USA Importer of Heym rifles to the USA at Reno last year and at DSVC this year, and will be with him at Reno this year as well.

A lot of things have been said about customer service, factory backup, and the suport of the "ownership" for the customers.

I would not be helping Chris out if I did not feel that Heym rifles were not great guns...

But since Chris is the sole Importer, any questions/concerns you have, you deal with him, and only him.

Also at Reno and at DSC we have the sole OWNER of Heym with us, in the booth.

I have hunted wild pigs with him here in Texas as well. He is a very remarkable individual in that he is more down to earth than most of us.

If the owners of Blaser were like Thomas, and Blaser USA were like Chris, from the start, we would have no problems.

The current Blaser USA people are the best for them so far, no doubt...

Blaser customers are the most Brand Loyal of any I have ever known in the Gun World...

This R8 "stuff" will not be good for Blaser.

They could take a good lesson from Heym.

Blaser has a great product, they fail on the personal contact, customer brand loyality, and marketing.

If I was their conslutant I could increase their sales in the US, 30% at least...

Good post and true.

The only thing that I can't figure is the push on the "new" shotgun end with the F3.

But other than a few ad's here and there, never much on the rifle end.

Would seem with an increase in N. American sales, would steady prices at realistic levels.

I have handled 2 Heyms, seem more than worth the price if your in the market place above the mass produced guns.

Unfortunately way out of my league....

On the Blaser end;is it a German thing? I don't mean that disparagingly, just as a cultural thing not understanding a North American market? We do think differently here(maybe not so good at times)

Dinsdale, a German "thing"???

I do not know, but I can say the owner of Heym is a German, and came to Texas to hunt pigs, and see what Americans and British doubles was all about.

Aftar this Chris, was able to change the geomerty of the Heym Double Rifle...

They handle great.

But that's my point,made the effort,learned the market a little,and responded to what a dealer/importer requested.

How many forums does the S2 get bashed on with the cocking issue and no response???

I know the guys at Heym well (OK, not the owner) - and it is each time a pleasure to work or to deal with them...

I have visited the factory a few times as well and it is a pleasure to see with how much pride they build guns!

If I could buy my the long wanted double rifle, it will be without a doubt a Heym - for the first I "just have" a new Heym barrel in my Remington Titanium inserted...
Let´s see how she shoots now... :?:  :D

Come on Pigeon, Heyms are OK doubles--but come on man, If you are dreaming of a double rifle--think Westely Richards, H&W, ect... Hell, even FAMARS,Fanzoj, or Hambruch makes a better looking double than heym!

I really liked the Verny Carron guns at DSC. Good deal for the money spent.

ED - I love that simple classic style of the Heyms and if You see the "results" of a few Heym doubles: they know how to make them that they work and shoot great without big difference between the 2 barrels...

AND

I have just a 2 hours drive to them in case of doubt...

AND

I know the master gunsmith...

OK

I am dreaming as well of a Westley Richards or a H&H, but that´s out of reach... And I am not sure what any of those could make better then what I want...

The Heym SR21 rifle is a good looking outfit as well.
