Swarovski - What is happening to their range?

Post by mchughcb »

Is the Z4 being retired?
Is the Z6i being retired?

Are we only going to be left with the Z8 and;

How long is the run out sale of Z6i's at euro optics going to last?

No more Z4s. Z6i are not going anywhere soon.

That's good news. I too felt that the advertising was inferring the phasing out of the z6i.

They have previously sent them to me, no problems.

It seems a few makers are streamlining their older model range - just saw a lot of non flash dot S&B Zeniths are discontinued

Good to know.
What happens with warranty ?
Do you have to send it back to Austria or will Swarovski Australia look after it ?

Can't answer that one, because it hasn't happened but it has happened with two other scopes from elsewhere and Swarovski Australia then send it to Austria and the warranty is honoured. Hence my great like of Swarovski.

They are an awesome company.
Many year ago before we had reps here, I had a bad fall crossing a creek , put a small dent on the outside but something went horribly wrong inside as every shot was different. I sent it back to Austria with a letter asking them to let me know what it would cost me to have it fixed , if it was worth even fixing. Low and behold a new scope turned up No charge.

That's the company I know.

I do think Euro is phasing out some slow movers and that is just good business sense. They'll probably keep a few on hand for those who decide later they need one but no sense keeping a lot of money sitting in boxes that aren't going anywhere soon.

Other than Euro's sale I haven't seen anything but I don't see the Z6i scopes being discontinued for a very long time. Great glass and they don't weigh a ton. Illumination modules on both the first series and the 2nd work fine and don't break like so many others. I'm set for now and the foreseeable future but maybe some day I'll get a Z8i just so I can say I've got one too....

With the price reductions that they've implemented on the z6i models there really wasn't a good reason to keep producing the z4. Clean up the production line and make scopes that people want to buy.

I've had fantastic after sales service from the Aussie Swaro rep Johannes, not so good from Leica, took over 3 months to return a dodgy scope, Swaro all the way for me nowdays. :handgestures-thumbup:

This year I sent my Z6i to Austria to have a BT fitted and asked them to touch up the paint work after my fall during this years hunting season, which I would gladly pay for along with the upgrade to the BT. When the scope arrived back the BT was fitted but the scratches were not filled in. When I contacted them to ask why not, the reply I got was "we do not do this". Thought it a bit strange.

Nope, they do not do
That. They will replace a main tube for a surprisingly low fee.
